Women’s History at the National Portrait Gallery

This tour will delve into the paintings, photographs, and sculptures of the National Portrait Gallery's collection to bring to life the flesh and blood stories of real notable and notorious American women. From colonial era spies to Civil War activists, suffragists to celebrities, discover the hidden history of American women who helped shape and lead our nation.

 

Rebecca Grawl is a native Texan with fifteen years experience in tourism, public history, and museum education. She is a licensed, professional D.C. tour guide who enjoys sharing our nation's capital and history with audiences and visitors from across the country and around the world. Prior to becoming a tour guide, she has worked with Amazement Square the Rightmire Children's Museum, Museum of the American Revolution, and the Museum of the Fine Arts Houston.  She holds a B.A. in American Culture from Randolph-Macon Woman's College (now Randolph College) and is an active senior leader with the National Society Children of the American Revolution.
